TOMORROW X TOGETHER’s Original Theme Song “Silence”

The theme song for the film is “Silence,” a new track by TOMORROW X TOGETHER written specifically for this project. The official announcement encourages fans to “pay attention to the song written especially for this film.” The credit reads: TOMORROW X TOGETHER “Silence” (ⓟ 2026 BIGHIT MUSIC).

Set on Japan’s Seto Inland Sea, the film follows the bond between a terminally ill music teacher and a mysterious high schooler who has lost his emotions. Further details on the song’s streaming or single release have not yet been announced — check official TXT channels for updates.

Insert Song: Shuntaro Tanikawa x Sekaikan Ozaki

In addition to the theme song, the film features an insert song based on the poem “Ikiru” (生きる, “To Live”) by renowned poet Shuntaro Tanikawa. The poem was set to music by Sekaikan Ozaki of the band Creepy Hip (クリープハイプ), with arrangement by DNA GAINZ, reinforcing the film’s central themes of life, death, and emotion.

Story Synopsis

Kyoka Odoriba (Alice Hirose) is a music teacher diagnosed with terminal breast cancer and given one year to live. Choosing not to pursue treatment, she returns to her hometown on an island in Japan’s Seto Inland Sea. Assigned to lead her old school’s choir club, she meets Okiharu (Daisei Kido), a mysterious high schooler who always smiles but is nicknamed “the Grim Reaper” by his classmates.

When Okiharu laughingly tells her he lost his family in a tsunami, Kyoka asks why he’s smiling. He explains that when he was swept away by the tsunami, he made a deal with Death itself — trading away every emotion except “joy,” including disgust, anger, sorrow, and fear — in exchange for survival. That’s why he feels nothing. But after a certain incident, one of his lost emotions begins to resurface, and an unusual daily life begins as Kyoka, with little time left, and Okiharu, without most of his emotions, slowly rediscover feeling together.
