What is a Start Deck in the ONE PIECE Card Game?
A Start Deck is a pre-constructed, tournament-legal deck built for players who are just getting into the game. You do not need to buy singles or booster packs to play — the box already contains a complete 51-card deck, the DON!! cards you need, and a rules index. Because every deck is a single color, it is also the easiest way to learn how each color plays before you start customizing.
What comes in the box
Within the 51-card deck, each Start Deck mixes 5 newly illustrated cards with 10 reprinted cards that are staples for that color. The rarity spread per deck is 1 Leader, 2 SR, 3 R, 3 UC, and 6 C, giving you a balanced core to build on.
All six decks and their leaders
Here is the full ST-31 to ST-36 line-up. Pick the color and character you like — every deck is playable straight out of the box.
Which deck should a beginner choose?
Straightforward aggression: ST-31 Red (Luffy)
Red is the classic beatdown color. The Luffy deck pressures your opponent with high-power characters and simple, direct attacks, making it a great first color to understand combat math.
Wide boards: ST-32 Green (Zoro)
Green leans on resting your opponent’s characters and filling the board, rewarding players who like tempo and control.
Defensive value: ST-33 Blue (Kuzan)
Blue is built around bouncing characters back to hand and grinding out card advantage — a good pick if you enjoy a slower, reactive game.
Two-color power: ST-35 Red/Black (Sabo)
The Sabo deck is the only dual-color entry in this wave, letting newer players sample how two colors combine while still being pre-built and ready to go.
“Rookies Battle” launch event
To celebrate the new decks, official shops nationwide host the Rookies Battle (Start Deck limited format) from July 11 to July 26, 2026. It is a Start-Deck-only tournament aimed at first-timers, and participation comes with a commemorative giveaway. If you are brand new, this is the friendliest possible way to play your first real matches. Check your local shop for exact schedules and stock.
