When does it open? Period & location

Noto Satoyama Pokemon with You Airport is a limited-term reopening of Noto Satoyama Airport (Noto Airport) in Ishikawa, running for roughly three years from Tuesday, July 7, 2026 through September 30, 2029. Its headline feature is being the first airport in the world to bear the Pokemon name, with both the nickname and the interior decor renewed at once.

The project is part of the Pokemon with You Foundation’s medium-to-long-term support for areas hit by the Noto Peninsula Earthquake. By filling a “gateway where people come and go” with Pokemon, it aims to give travelers a reason to visit Noto and to bring smiles to the region. Handily, some display areas can be viewed even without a flight ticket.

The biggest draw is the large Pikachu and airplane balloon floating in the second-floor atrium, surrounded by countless Pokemon gliding happily through the “sky.” The whole terminal is reimagined around a theme of “sky and Pokemon.” Across the grounds, all 111 Flying-type Pokemon discovered as of May 2026 appear as decorations (excluding Mega Evolutions and regional forms) — a genuinely exhaustive lineup.

The first-floor arrival lobby features “Akarui Mirai” (Bright Future), a recovery-support artwork first created in 2024, rendered here with Pikachu, Plusle and Minun as three-dimensional monuments. The commemorative opening art “Kibou no Sora” (Sky of Hope) — shown at the top of this article — expresses a longing for the sky and the hope of setting off on a new journey. The third-floor observation deck is dotted with Pikachu, and Pokemon decorate the building signage, entrance pillars, doorways and boarding bridges.

Original cafe & restaurant menu

The airport restaurant serves a collaboration menu of two kinds of pancakes and two drinks. Order a set and it arrives on an original lunch mat, so it is worth stopping in for a bite before or after your flight. Menu contents may change, so check the latest details on-site.

Pokemon-wrapped bus & access

A Pokemon-wrapped bus runs on the Kanazawa–Airport–Wajima express line (one round trip per day). Separately, a new Noto circuit bus links Pokemon spots around the peninsula, including the Wakura Onsen Pokemon foot bath, the “Pokemon with You Train” at Anamizu Station, and the “Sylveon with LOVE” monument in Suzu City. Combining the airport with these stops makes for a fun way to tour the region.
